Mindfulness Meet – Up Tonight, April 24th, from 6:00 – 7:15 pm

Join us tonight from 6:00 – 7:15 pm for our monthly mindfulness meet-up. The class will consist of gentle movement, followed by a mindfulness based meditation and an extended relaxation with the gong.

Amber will be leading the class this evening.

These sessions are by donation. Either bringing in a non-perishable food item for our food basket for the lanark county food bank, or we have our karma yoga donation box out for our SEVA fund.  Our SEVA fund supports local families and organizations we believe in.  All money raised this month will continue to go towards the McComb family, who are presently supporting their 9 year old daughter as she goes through chemotherapy treatment for kidney cancer.

No donation is too small, sometimes the pure intention of our practice towards something or someone we believe in is a gift beyond any monetary amount – a gift from the heart. We hope to see you tonight. Preregistration is not necessary, but we recommend you arrive early to settle into our space.

Wisdom

“There’s a reason that you can learn from everything: You have basic wisdom, basic intelligence and basic goodness. Therefore, if the environment is supportive and encourages you to be brave and to open your heart and mind, you’ll find yourself opening to the wisdom and compassion that’s inherently there….It’s the willingness to open your eyes, your heart and your mind to allow situations in your life to become your teacher. With awareness, you are able to find out for yourself what causes misery and what causes happiness.”

Yoga for Lilly – Thank You

I just want to send out a huge heartfelt thank you to everyone that contributed and came out this past Sunday for our Karma Yoga class for Lilly.  We had an amazing turnout of people of all ages, so much energy swirling around in that room.  It was a very powerful afternoon and we are so  grateful to you, our community.  We raised a total of $700.85 for Lilly and her family.  Our donation box will be up at the studio all month if you weren’t able to attend but would like to offer a donation to  the family.  We also want to thank  the Almonte United Church for letting us use their sacred space for our class.  The extra space was necessary, and we are so thankful we were able to practice there, it also gave the wee ones lots of running room.  Yoga in the chaos of laughter and youthful energy, beautiful!  Thank you to everyone that helped to make our Sunday together so special.  There will be another Yoga for Lilly class held later this month at the Heritage Fitness,  To The Mat yoga studio in Carleton Place.  Friday night, April 26th, from 7:30 – 8:30.  This will be a relaxing class and 100% of all money raised will go directly to Lilly’s family.

We are including some pictures from the mural we created together.  So much love infused in the drawings and the messages.  Thank you.
